SENATE CONFIRMS EMEFIELE AS NEW CBN GOVERNOR

Abuja - The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Godwin Emefiele as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN),




President Goodluck Jonathan had submitted his name on February 20 to succeed suspended governor of the bank, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

Emefiele was grilled for hours by the senators and senate President David Mark expressed satisfaction over his responses.

Emefiele was until his appointment the Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc.
